Hyvää Joulua!- Merry Christmas!

Lauantaiaamuna heräsin jo viiden jälkeen. Sormet syyhysivät pitkän tauon jälkeen mineilemään. Syntyi kuistin koristelu ja pieni jouluvieras!

Saturday morning I woke up already shortly after 5 o´clock. I felt like doing something... Decorated the porch and made this little christmas visitor...

Saga gave me a bag full of all kinds of little things and they were a great help decorating the porch.

Joululahja - Christmas Present

Veljeni tytär, Neela 7 v, omistaa nukkekodin. Neela RAKASTAA eläimiä ja hänen nukkekodissaan asuukin lehmiä!
Lehmien televisio oli mennyt epäkuntoon ja Neela toivoi uutta. Lehmien televisiosta katsellaan tietysti luontodokumenttia kesäisestä kukkaniitystä. Laitoin pakettiin vähän muutakin.

My brother´s daughter, Neela 7 yrs, has a doll house. Neela LOVES animals and in her dollhouse there live cows!
Neela wished a new TV for the cows and of course, the program they are watching, is a nature documentary about the summery flower fields...

Marraskuu - November

Tässä kuussa en ole tehnyt mitään, en kertakaikkiaan yhtään mitään nukkekodin eteen. Olen auttanut äitiäni hänen liiketoimintansa uudelleenjärjestelyissä ja toivottavasti ensi kuussa alkaa taas olla aikaa ja energiaa miniatyyreillekin.

This month I have done nothing, absolutely nothing with my dollhouse. I have helped my mother with her business arrangements and I hope that in December the miniatures will get some of time and energy too.

Äitini suunnittelee ja valmistaa koruja, joissa käytetään asiakkaan oman hevosen jouhia.

My mother designs and makes jeweler, and the horse hair in them is from the customers own horse.

Valoa Pimeään - Light to the Darkness

Kun tuota rautalankaa tässä yhtenä iltana vääntelin, ja helmetkin olivat siinä käsillä, vääntelin saman tien myös pari kynttilänjalkaharjoitelmaa.

As I was wringing the iron wire the other night, and I also had the pearls right next to me, I tried making candle sticks.

En ollut näistä niin haltioissani, mutta ajattelin, että kerta se on aina ensimmäinenkin. Ja sitten kynttilöitä...

I wasn´t too impressed with them, but I thought, that there´s always the first time. And then candles...

Todellakin käsin tehtyjä :) Kynttilämestarin tulisi mennä takaisin oppiin... 

Valkoisen massan käsittely on haastavaa (ja pikkuisen raivostuttavaa), mutta sain aikaiseksi muutaman kynttilän, jotka eivät olleet aivan täynnä karvoja ja pölyä.

Really hand made :) The candle master should practise more...

White Fimo is quite challenging, but still I got a few white candles that aren´t covered with hair and dust.

Huonoimmat kynttilät on nyt pakattu kauniisti ja ne odottavat lahjatavaraliikkeen valmistumista.

Not so good ones were packed nicely and they wait for the gift shop to get ready.

Väännetään rautalangasta - Wringing Iron Wire

Joskus tuli rautalankaa väänneltyä paljonkin, tosin paksumpaa kuin nyt. Yhtenä iltana viime viikolla ajattelin, että rautalankahommat sujuvat sohvalla televisiota katsellessa, huonommassakin valossa ja vielä hieman puolikuntoisena flunssan kourissa.

Nämä korit nyt eivät niin hääppöisiä ole, mutta laitan kuvat, koska nuo helmet ovat mielestäni aika kivat ruosteisen rautalangan kanssa.

Years ago I used to work quite a lot with iron wire, but thicker than this. One evening last week, I thought that wringing the wire is something I can do on a sofa, watching tv, in a bad lighting conditions and not feeling too well.

The baskets are not too special, but I quite like the glass pearls with the rusty wire.

Flyygelin uusi elämä - New Life for a Grand Piano

Ostin Hannalta FB:n kirppikseltä flyygelin, joka oli jo parhaat päivänsä nähnyt. Ei haitannut: sille oli olemassa paikka ja tiesin, että musta maali ja kiiltävä lakkakerros tekevät sille ihmeitä!

I bought a  grand piano from the FB-dollhouse fleemarket. It had suffered a bit, but I didn´t care, because I knew, that some black paint and glossy lack will do the thing!

Puutarhakausi päättyy - Gardening season is over

Työt oikeassa puutarhassa vähenevät, pakkanenkin tuoksuu jo silloin tällöin ilmassa. Ensimmäisiä kertoja elämässäni osaan nauttia talvenkin tulosta: puutarhassa on lepotauko ja on aikaa ja inspiraatiota tehdä suunnitelmia seuraavalle keväälle. Suomessa puutarhakausi on niin lyhyt ja intensiivinen.
Lehdet on haravoitu kukkapenkkeihin ja potageriin maatumaan mullaksi, kukkasipulit on haudattu kosteaan maahan, kesäkukkaruukut tyhjennetty ja työkalut viety varastoon.
Ja mukavaa on tiedossa pimeiksi, kylmiksi talvipäiviksi ja -illoiksi: voin kömpiä yläkertaan iniatyyrimaailmaan.

The work in the real garden is getting less and less, you can smell the frost in the air. For the first times in my life I have learned to enjoy winter too: garden rests and there´s time and inspiration to make new plans for the next spring. The garden season in Finland is so short and intensive.

The leaves are in the flower benches and potager turning into compost, the bulbs are buried in a wet, dark dirt and the garden tools are taken in.
But something very wonderfull is also waiting:  in the cold and dark winter days and evenings, I can climb upstairs to the miniature world.

Sadepäivän shoppailuja - Rainy Day Shopping

Pidin perjantaina vapaapäivän. Tarkoitukseni oli tehdä puutarhassa syystöitä, mutta vettä satoi kaatamalla. Mietin, mitä tekisin kaikella vapaa-ajallani ja päätin tehdä pienen ostoskierroksen paikkoihin, joihin ei yleensä tule lähdettyä. Ensin Karisman kauppakeskukseen Tiimariin, Clas Ohlssonille ja Sinelliin, sitten Vääksyyn Lauran Kauppaan ja lopuksi kirpparille... Kirpputorilta löysin vihdoin materiaalin lehmäntaljaan, jota olen toivonut nukkekodin olohuoneeseen. Tein samalla useamman FB:n nukekotikirppikselle myytäväksi.

I had a day off on Friday. I wanted to do some garden work but it was raining too much. I wondered what to do with all the spare time and decided to shop around a little bit... From the fleemarket I finally found material for the new carpet in a dollhouse: hairy, perfect cow skin!!!

New tool. Haven´t tried yet.

Ajat ennen Googlea - The Times before Google

Mustaan Huoneeseen tulee kattoon asti ylettyvät kirjahyllyt ja näitä kirjoja on nyt sitten tullut väsäiltyä jonkun verran... 96 cm pitkä on jono!

Kirjoja tehdessäni mietin, kuinka paljon maailma on muuttunut. Yhteen pieneen laitteeseen mahtuu enemmän tietoa, kuin yhden kartanon koko kirjavarastoon. Läppäri on pienempi kuin yksi tuollainen kirja. Ja kuinka nopeasti tieto vanheneekaan tänä päivänä!

Kirjoja arvostettiin ja ne olivat kalliita, koska ne olivat taitavien käsityöläisten tekemiä, nahalla ja kultauksilla somistettuja. Tieto oli vain harvojen ja valittujen saatavilla...

There will be high book shelves in the Black Room and now I´ve been making the books to fill them up. If I put them on a row, the row is 96 cm long.

While making them I thought how the world has changed. One small machine can hold more information than all the books of a big and rich manorhouse. A Laptop is smaller than any of those books. And how quickly the information gets "old" nowadays!

The books were respected and they were expensive because they were hand made by gifted artesans, they were covered with leather and gold. Information and knowledge weren´t for everybody...

Kukkapylväs - Flower Pillar

Tämän tein "Mustaa Huonetta" varten. Joskus kuvat kertovat enemmän kuin tuhat sanaa, en siis pitkästytä teitä jorinoilla :)

Kaaos nukkekdissa - Chaos in the dollhouse

Elämä ei ole aina täydellistä. Ei nukkekodissakaan.
Kun vein talon ja puutarhan puutarhanäyttelyyn, tyhjensin talosta kaiken irtonaisen. Koko kesän irtaimisto oli hyllyllä.

Life isn´t always perfect. Not even in the dollhouse.
When I took the house and garden to the gardenshow i emptied it and all the things have been on the shelf all summer.

Yläkerta alkaa olla hyvässä mallissa ja sinne olen tehnyt paljon uutta nyt syksyn aikana, mutta muu talo...

The attick is going pretty well and I´ve been making even new things there, but the rest of the house...

Sääliksi käy henkilöä, jonka pitäisi laittaa täällä ruokaa... Puuhella on riivitty irti seinästä ja se muuttaa mummolle. Tähän taloon tuleekin  takka ja sähkövempeleet keittiöön.

I feel sorry for the person, who should cook here... The stove is taken away and it moves to granny´s. This house will have a fireplace and electric stove and oven.

Shakkipöytä - Chesstable

Tänä aamuna olo olikin ihan mukavan virkeä, flunssa alkaa helpottaa! Jotain pientä teki mieli näperrellä. Jotain simppeliä ja nopeaa. Tein tuolien kaveriksi shakkipöydän ja pienen shakkilaudan nukkekotiin.

Jalat ovat valmiit sorvaukset, joita lyhensin hieman. Pöytä on balsaa ja shakkilauta on printti.

This morning I felt quite much better: the flu is giving up! I felt like making something small, simple and quick. I made a chesstable and a chessboard.

The pedestals are ready made ones, I only shortened them. The table itself is made out of balsa and the chessboard is a print.
